English Becky Essay
The story is called “Becky and the Wheel-and-brake boys” this story is written by James Berry. The story is about a girl, Becky, she is a girl that likes to fit in and she wants to fit in with Wheel-and-Brake Boys they all ride bikes so, she really wants one until the end of the story. I think Becky is a credible because of what she feels, says, and, does.
I think Becky is a credible because she wants to fit in with the other kids an example is “I only want to be with Nat, Aldo, Jimmy, and Ben.” The all have bike and since they had bikes so she wants to fit in she wants a bike, just like the other kid.
The second reason I think Becky is a credible character is because she begs her mom for a bike again and again. Becky said to her, “Over and over I told my mum I wanted a bike.” A while later she tells her mother, “I still want to have a bike badly.” In order to get what Becky wants, Becky thinks she has to beg to her mother several times and tell her mother how she feels about the bike. I think Becky is credible because lots of kid begs their parents to what they want.
Finally, another reason that Becky is a credible character is because she has always fought with her friend. As an example, Becky thinks, “for the first time me and Shirnette had a real fight, because of what I hated most.” Shirnette wanted to get back at Becky because Becky had put a centipede up her shirt so; she got even by putting a cockroach in Becky’s blouse. This proves that Becky is a realistic character.
In conclusion, Becky, the main character in “Becky and the Wheel-and-Brake Boys,” is credible because of other emotions, her words, and her actions. That means that she is your average chid.
